Rinascita dell’ Arte Povera

RINASCITA DELL’ ARTE POVERA, 2012 | human hair, household dust, gold leaf | 490 x 490 x 70 mm

Rinascita dell’ Arte Povera, created from human hair, household dust and gold leaf, is a three-dimensional version of the geometric drawing mesh. It references two Italian movements – the radical Italian Arte Povera Movement of the 1960’s to 1970’s, which advocated the use of non-traditional everyday materials or ‘poor materials’ and the Renaissance Period. It is a renaissance, or rebirth, of ‘poor art’.
