From Aphar

Aphar is the Hebrew word for dry earth and dust. It is used here as a homophone for the word ‘Afar’. Our return to dust, although perhaps harder to accept than the profoundly abstract notion that we come from dust, is inevitable and perhaps easier to grasp. Whatever our inclination, it all comes down to dust.
