Distortion of Beauty

An inflatable piece made to fit into a large letter envelope for the show ‘Travelling Light’ which toured with WW Gallery, London to the Venice Biennale. ‘Distortion of Beauty’ attempts to show, with the queens head buried into the cushion, the gravity of money and effect upon lightness of being. The value of the pound is cushioned by inflation – However, cushions loose their buttons and the pound goes astray. It is then we see art cushioning the economy, acting as a foil against the depression created by the absence of money.
