MOTH TO DUST – DUST TO MOTH, 2018 | household dust, 30 x 30 x 12 mm
THE FLYING PHALLI, 2009 | household dust | 60 x 75 x 20 mm | The original name for the moth was Phalaena, which was derived from Phallos. Early depictions of their abdomens were thus exaggerated rendering them as flying phalli.
MOTH-ER, 2006 | household dust | 42 x 25 x 12 mm | This tiny dust work, one of the earliest I created, fuses the mother/dust obsession through the Moth motif. My interest in dust stems from growing up, and developing creatively in an immaculate environment, an environment that nurtured obsessive behaviour.
